The Elex is the second phase of a major public-private partnership that is transforming the former General Electric campus into a mixed-income, mixed-use community. Located in Fort Wayne, IN, The Elex is at the center of Electric Works, a mixed-use district with over 1 million square feet of residential, education, healthcare, retail, entertainment, and community space.
Named for the Elex Club, a 1916 organization of GE-employed women, the development provides 296 all-electric apartments, including affordable units and units reserved for residents with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
“The Elex sets a new standard for inclusive, community-centered apartment living in Fort Wayne... With thoughtfully designed, accessible units and a range of amenities that support everyday life, this residential community delivers real value to individuals and families across income levels."
