Jon Cohen

As Director of Real Estate at MSquared, Jon Cohen leads the company’s underwriting and project structuring processes.

 

Prior to MSquared, Jon served as a Senior Advisor at New York City Hall to the Deputy Mayor for Housing and Economic Development, where he played a key role in the development and implementation of NYCHA 2.0, a comprehensive plan to deliver $24B in repairs for the New York City Housing Authority. At City Hall, Jon also worked on numerous other housing, life sciences, and infrastructure development projects and initiatives.

 

Prior to City Hall, Jon worked in the Real Estate Transaction Services group at the NYC Economic Development Corporation, where he negotiated complex public-private partnerships, developed tax-increment financing and value capture models, and structured residential, commercial, and mixed-use real estate development projects.

 

In his nearly 10 years of real estate experience, Jon has worked for a Chinese real estate private equity firm and a UK-based multifamily investment company, and he also co-founded a NYC-based real estate brokerage tech startup. Jon began his career working in the investments group at the 1199SEIU pension fund.

 

Jon earned a BA from Tulane University and an MSRED from Columbia University.
